THE PERFECT EXCUSE TO VISIT
Run Port Douglas is Australia’s newest running event on the annual running event calendar and will be held in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, Tropical North Queensland. The run is the perfect excuse to visit and explore this stunning region.
The 2km, 5km, 10km and 21.1km Half Marathon courses will all finish on the famous Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas and will be held on Saturday 13 September 2025. All distances will be timed, so you can choose to challenge yourself for a best time, or take the time to soak in the beautiful surroundings. Stop to take photos, enjoy the experience with family and friends, dress up to win some awesome prizes and most importantly, have fun.
The Run Port Douglas courses will take you through the beautiful town of Port Douglas, with all distances finishing with a run/walk along the sands of Four Mile Beach. There is no other finish line like it anywhere in the world!

The event will be held as part of the Port Douglas Gran Fondo Festival, an event that now includes both running and cycling events. The Hartley’s to Port MTB Race which starts outside Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures in Wangetti will also be finishing on Four Mile Beach on Saturday 13 September. Riders will be arriving just after the runners finish crossing the finish line. Plus, you can stick around to watch the exciting Four Mile Beach Mountain Bike Sprint Race. Two riders at a time sprint down a 250mtr stretch of sand in a knockout competition to find our fastest man and woman on the sand.
Other awesome events being held across the Festival weekend include the 136km & 100km Gran Fondo, 60km Semi Fondo and 48km Medio Fondo rides on Sunday 14 September. The Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina Festival Expo will include running and cycling brands, plus we will have a huge range of merchandise so you can take home a memento of your time in Port Douglas. It’s the perfect excuse to bring the whole family to Port Douglas for a holiday.
While you are here, there are endless experiences to appeal to everyone. Jump on Quicksilver Cruises and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, see crocodiles up close at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, cuddle a koala at Wildlife Habitat, explore the Daintree Rainforest on a guided walk through Mossman Gorge, enjoy drinks on sunset at Hemingway’s Brewery, visit the famous Port Douglas Sunday Markets and so much more!
